Christi "LynX" Rougoor Performs Wheelchair Bungee Jump

The following clip, filmed recently in Whistler, B.C., is of Christi Rougoor bungee jumping with her wheelchair.  Rougoor connected with 9Lives Adventures, a company that specializes in assisting people with disabilities to participate in extreme sports.  9Lives held a contest to have someone win the opportunity to perform the feat and show that people with disabilities can still be adrenaline junkies.  With Rougoor, a high school teacher, having a very active lifestyle prior to her accident, this bungee jump was an experience that will help her reclaim a part of who she was before her accident.  Enjoy the clip!

Rudolf Mihu's Comb Multifolding Wheelchair Concept

Rudolf Mihu's Comb Multifolding Wheelchair Concept, named because of the use of honeycomb shapes, was designed under the premise that current manual wheelchairs are too bulky when folded and stored and a rethink on how to make a manual wheelchair more compact when stored was needed. This concept wheelchair features an innovative folding mechanism that enables its user to easily store the chair when not in use or during transport. Mihu envisions to use materials such as aluminum, carbon fiber, or titanium to construct this ultra-lightweight wheelchair.  More information and images after the jump.

Colin Furze's Hijinks In Snow With 70 MPH Scooter

It has been a couple of years since there has been a post about Colin Furze on this blog (read the first one here), but here he is a new clip of him with his monster scooter playing around in the snow.  Apparently there was reports that he had fitted the scooter with a flamethrower but was told by the authorities that it is illegal to fit one onto a scooter.  Who knew?  Enjoy the clip!

Wheel+Chair Concept Turns Any Chair Into Wheelchair

The Wheel+Chair concept is very innovative in its simplicity as it is, in layman's terms, a retrofit kit that transforms a standard chair into a fully functional manual wheelchair. By utilizing a standard house chair as the base, the production and transportation costs of this unit are drastically reduced when compared to a basic manual wheelchair. There are still many disabled people in the world who cannot afford a wheelchair, especially in the world’s poorest regions where even the cheapest wheelchair can be very prohibitively expensive. More information and images after the jump.
